blog course page

Trying for first time to have the course homepage as a blog; my intention is to have the page itself in an easily upgradable form, and also give a better opportunity for feedback. (Having it not in Blogger but in Blogsome with Wordpress, it also gives an opportunity to get to know the latter and use perhaps a bit too much time in finetuning the page...)
