opportunist and nationalist

Perhaps it's not advantageous for my scholarly credentials to admit browsing the net for class preparation sources, but since the present-day attitudes towards issues of contemporary Korean history are a vital part of the classes, online sources are important, right?

So, here are essays on two major personalities in contemporary Korean history for the weekly Hankyoreh21 by Han Hong-koo, professor of history at Sungkonghoe University. The titles, whether given by Han or by the editors, are rather telling:

Young Opportunist Park Chung-hee! (기회주의 청년 박정희!) (from another site since the original requires registration)

20th Century Nationalist, Kim Il-sung (20세기형 민족주의자, 김일성) (original Hankyoreh21 site, registration apparently not required)
